The full carbon ORACULUM is a solid freestyle machine. The outline is certainly more freestyle than freeride orientated with width in the tips and quite parallel rails. Featuring thick ABS rails, there’s nice detailing in the base with a very wakestyle looking bottom sheet. A flat section in the centre runs out to some light channels by the fins and there’s a main channel running the length of the board that flattens out towards the tips. Although there is plenty of carbon used in the ORACULUM design this is obviously to add stiffness rather than weight saving as the board is quite heavy. The ORACULUM Robust enough to put a set of boots on it as well, the freestyle/wakestyle orientation is definitely where the Re Solve is headed.
The ride feel is very sure and positive. The relative stiffness ensures you get up and going quickly but there is enough of a softness to the ride to have some comfort, also to be able to engage a rail without it being hard work and the steady rocker profile helps the board deal with chop quite well. There is enough manoeuvrability and release for 180 board transitions etc. for intermediate riders, but the ORACULUM really steps up well to the freestyle plate. Very solid load and pop, good, fast landings that aren’t going to break your knees as there’s enough going on underneath the board to soak up the big contact forces. The board really is rock solid quality and there was plenty of adjustment for the footstraps or to allow boots as well.
